TRAVELING OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOME PROVINCE

Did you know that when you travel outside of your home province, your provincial health care coverage may not fully cover you for some medical treatments? Your provincial health care will only cover the costs for any service that would be covered in your home province and all provinces have a different pricing schedule. So if you travel to a province that charges more than your own province allows, you may have to pay the difference and this could cost you thousands of dollars for major medical situations.

Also, once you are outside of your own province, the health care system will not pay for additional expenses that they may cover inside your home province. So such costs as air ambulance, emergency dental or emergency eye injury, homeward travel of the deceased, and some medical supplies may not be covered.

There is a very simple solution - we recommend that you purchase an annual travel medical policy for you and your family. Prices start at only $150.00 per year for a family of up to six persons and this will cover you up to two million dollars in medical costs, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

WILL YOU BE TRAVELING TO THE U.S. FOR MORE THAN 31 DAYS IN ANY YEAR?

Most people think that they can travel to the U.S. for up to six months per year without any concern. Did you know that when you travel to the U.S. for over 31 days in any year, you are required to complete IRS forms to confirm that you are not living in the U.S. illegally and that you are not obligated to pay U.S. taxes. Failure to complete these forms may cause you some difficulty with the U.S. Government, who may expect and ask you to pay U.S. taxes as if you were a resident of the U.S.
